Schramm Land Stewards - Volunteer Opportunity!

  • Schramm State Park 21502 Nebraska 31 Gretna, NE, 68028 United States (map)

Schramm Education Center presents “Schramm Land Stewards - Volunteer Opportunity!”

Looking to get outdoors and volunteer? Schramm Park SRA is holding a volunteer opportunity to assist with oak woodland restoration efforts. Join NGPC staff as we collect acorns to grow into oak trees to be planted in the forest next year. We will also work on trail maintenance, brush piling, and forest floor cleanup along the Hackberry and Red Cedar trails.

Wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and long pants, bring water, and outdoor work gloves. Long sleeves are also recommended. All ages are welcome for this opportunity, but anyone under the age of 18 must have an accompanying adult.

Register in advance if plan to attend so we can estimate head count for work materials: https://arcg.is/H1L5S2.

Meet at the park shelter next to Pond A. We’ll kick things off at 9 am with an introduction to the project and then hike up into the forest as a group to get started. Volunteers will need to sign a standard volunteer waiver upon arrival. We are meeting in the park, so a state park vehicle permit is required.
