Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Nebraska Wildlife Education presents “Science of…Prescribed Fire.”

Prescribed fire is a powerful tool for managing Nebraska’s prairies and forests, but there’s a lot of science behind the flames. This virtual program explores how controlled burns work, why fire is important for plant and animal health, and the safety measures that make it possible. You’ll learn how fire influences ecosystems, helps control invasive species, and supports biodiversity, all while reducing the risk of larger wildfires.
